Rides for a Cause

Whats your passion? What drives you? Why I ride?

My passion has been martial arts since I was 8 years old. So much so I have my own martial arts and fitness studio today. (Martial Arts USA) So when I’m not riding, I’m helping kids and adults work towards their passions and goals everyday.  There is a selfishness to it though, I feel alive when I inspire others and motivate them.

Make no mistake their is also a selfishness to the riding. I’ve spent over 20 years teaching martial arts and I want to explore the world and do it overland. I try to find the right words without sounding cliche but every time I travel on the bike I’m inspired by the people I meet and the things I experience. There is a sense of freedom, but more importantly, its the sense of accomplishment that keeps me on the saddle and pulling the throttle.

Below are the causes that I have a personal connection with. The power of offering your time, money and support can’t be measured. So if I can inspire one person to follow their dreams and help make a difference, then the rides will always be worth it!

PARKINSONS DISEASE

Almost 3 years ago we started the Rock Steady Boxing program at Martial arts USA.  We have over 50 members involved today. These amazing folks inspire me everyday!

An estimated 5 million people worldwide are living with Parkinson’s disease (PD) — a chronic neurodegenerative disorder. In the United States, 60,000 new cases will be diagnosed this year alone. There is no known cure for Parkinson’s. As the world’s largest nonprofit funder of PD research, MJFF is working to change this.

MJFF is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson’s disease through an aggressively funded research agenda and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson’s today.  You can donate to the Michael J. Fox foundation. Click the link below to donate to my team page.

Martial Arts has always been more about self development. No matter what age it can help you recognize your weaknesses and your strengths. You become more self aware!

I have witnessed it first hand, through my martial arts studio, how it’s helped transform and encourage the next generation of students to become leaders. If you can develop a community where there are leaders and mentors whom share a common vision of individual growth, the duplication becomes real. Which is why I support Programs like Mentor Me!
